USA Far Ocean Group Inc has issued a recall for its Vagifresh Ball and Vagifresh Gel products due to inappropriate ingredients and dangerous bacteria that could cause adverse side effects.
According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), both products were sold in a mixed package named Female One. An analysis the conducted by the FDA revealed that a sample of Vagifresh Gel contained benzocaine, which is an ingredient used in many anesthetic drug products. Additionally, a sample of a Vagifresh ball was also found to contain bacteria such as Bacillus Lentus, Staphylococcus lentus, and Aerococcus viridians.
The side effects that may result from the contamination were not immediately known, but the FDA did warn of an increased risk of adverse reactions in people who used the product. There have been no reports of illnesses linked to these products.
The products were sold at beauty shops, drug stores, herbal stores, mail order and on the internet.
