A Pennsylvania woman has filed a product liability lawsuit against companies involved in the making and sale of a denture cream that she claims caused various physical injuries that she suffered.
Sixty-three-year-old Barbara Scholl alleges that her use of SuperPoligrip denture cream for several years caused her to suffer a number of injuries including tingling in her hands, anemia, elevated zinc levels, nerve weakness, balance difficulty and decreased function and strength in her hands, according to the Pennsylvania Record.
The product liability lawsuit, filed on January 23, claims that Scholl used the denture cream from 1996 until present day, and that the injuries its use has caused have led to her suffering from lost wages, embarrassment, disfigurement, humiliation, and loss of life’s pleasures. The defendants named in the complaint include Glaxosmithkline, Block Drug Company, and Smithkline Beecham Corporation. The charges against them include gross negligence, violation of Pennsylvania’s Consumer Protection Act, and strict liability failure to warn and breach of implied warranties.
