Boeing Co. has been sued by the estates of 23 people who died in a January 2010 Ethiopian Airlines crash of one of their planes, claiming that the company negligently manufactured and designed the aircraft.
According to Law360, two separate complaints were filed in Illinois court alleging that Boeing installed ineffective control systems that led to a crash into the Mediterranean Sea that claimed the lives of all 82 passengers and 8 crew members onboard. The complaint also claims that the airline did not provide adequate recovery procedures for the crew.
Administrators of the estates also claim that Boeing violated its responsibility to utilize the highest degree of care in manufacturing, designing, marketing, testing, selling, servicing and warning with their. The plaintiffs charge Boeing with negligence and claims of product liability.
