A food company in Minnesota has recalled its
hard-boiled eggs for a possible
listeria contamination, which may cause serious infections in consumers with weak immune systems.
According to the
Associated Press,
Michael Foods is recalling eggs in brine sold in 10 and 25 pound pails used for institutions in 34 states. The brands included in the recall are GFS, Columbia Valley Farms, Papettiās, Glenview Farms, Wholesome Farms and Silverbrook.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration reported that the eggs were produced at a plant in Wakefield Nebraska and were purchased by food manufacturers and distributors.
Despite the recall, there have been not yet been any reports of illnesses.
Some of the states included in the recall are Georgia, California, Colorado, Iowa, Arkansas, Alabama and Arizona.
