Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (PPH)

PPH is a deadly lung disorder that can lead to heart failure. Doctors believe PPH is on the rise in the US because certain diet drugs that were used in the 1990s have been associated with the disease. 

Fen-Phen

The diet drug Fen-phen, which was widely marketed and prescribed in the 1990s, has been most closely linked to PPH and hundreds of lawsuits have been settled or litigated against American Home Products Corporation, the company that made Fen-phen.

The company has paid millions of dollars to people who developed PPH after taking Fen-phen, Pondimin, or  Redux. Millions of people took these prescription drugs in the hope that they would lose weight and become healthier. Unfortunately, thousands of these people now suffer long term health risks or have developed a potentially fatal pulmonary artery disease.

The legal system may be able to provide compensation for people victimized by the negligence of drug manufacturers.
