Memorial Day is a time for all of us to reflect on the service of the brave men and women who fought and died to protect the freedoms that we enjoy today as individuals and as a nation. We have all been touched by their sacrifice and owe them a debt of thanks.
In observance of the holiday, Sokolove Law is proud to honor those who have lost their lives protecting our country as well as those who continue to serve with a contribution to Honor and Remember. This nonprofit group is dedicated to preserving the memory of all American lives lost in the defense of our nations freedoms.
Of course, we all know that not every warrior is lost on the battlefield. Today, thousands of our veterans are fighting a battle that they never imagined the one against mesothelioma and other serious diseases caused by asbestos exposure.
Veterans are at significant risk for this deadly cancer due to the past use of asbestos-containing products by the armed services. For much of the 20th century, manufacturers used asbestos in products that were used in the construction of U.S. Navy vessels and military bases even though these companies knew that the material posed terrible health risks to anyone who inhaled it. In fact, approximately one-third of mesothelioma cases have been shown to involve Navy or shipyard exposures.

If you or a loved one served in a branch of the armed services, suffered asbestos exposure during your service, and now have been diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma, there may be legal action you can pursue against the makers of the asbestos product that harmed you.
Contact Sokolove Law today to learn more about the connections between veterans and mesothelioma and to find out if a mesothelioma lawyer can help. Any mesothelioma lawsuit you pursue will not be filed against the government or the military.
