With more than 250 jury trials to his credit and thousands of clients, Turner Branch has come a long way from his humble beginnings in 1966 as a solo practitioner. Today, his firm, The Branch Law Firm, is nationally recognized for its involvement in a leadership capacity in a number of mass torts as well as being instrumental in a New Mexico state law overturning sovereign immunity.
Branch first became involved with complex litigation in 1989 with EMS (Eosinophilia Myalgia Syndrome, a neurological disease, linked to the ingestion of the bio-engineered amino acid, L-Tryptophan) and has since been involved in Norplant®, Fen Phen, Rezulin®, Baycol®, Vioxx®, and Avandia®. The firm also handles catastrophic injury, automobile and truck collision, medical malpractice, and nursing home abuse cases. In addition, it focuses on environmental litigation: one of its high-profile cases involved methane-contaminated water supplies in New Mexico.
His partner and wife, Margaret Moses Branch, was one of five female attorneys to negotiate the settlement of one thousand Silicone Breast Implant cases and in 1990, along with two other Albuquerque lawyers, co-founded the New Mexico Women's Bar, which currently has more than 300 members.
Branch has been a Sokolove Co-counsel firm since 2001 with participation in both the national Nursing Home and Birth Injury/Medical Malpractice campaigns from their inception as well as a number of national campaigns, including Pain Pump and Avandia.
"The Branch Law Firm has had the privilege of working with Sokolove Law for a number of years and has established a wonderful working relationship," says Branch. "I commend the staff for their hard work in providing us with leads that fit our criteria and for always being available to assist us. Obviously, with the competitiveness that we all face in obtaining the best clients, we feel that working with Sokolove Law has given us a leading edge over our competitors."
