Community Involvement

Sokolove Law believes in the power of giving back. The work we do extends far beyond fighting for justice and compensation for families suffering from mesothelioma and personal injuries. Our mission is to make a lasting, positive impact on our community and society as a whole.

Sokolove Law Community-Focused Programs

Many reach out to us for legal support. However, we know there are hundreds of men, women, children, and families in our local communities who are struggling.

Through clothing drives, food drives, research funding, and more, we help those in need to go on to lead healthy and independent lives.

Ever since we opened the doors to our legal practice in 1979, community service has been at the forefront of our working agenda. As we help our communities by giving back, we become better equipped to assist our clients in the legal space.

Miles for Meso

Sokolove Law is proud to be a Diamond Sponsor of Miles for Meso, an annual series of 5k races, fun runs, and walks that take place across the country.

Alongside the sponsoring organization, our goal with these events is to spread awareness about mesothelioma and raise money for research.

Over $350,000 in proceeds from the races have gone to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (MARF), a non-profit dedicated to finding better treatment options for this rare and deadly cancer.

Additional funds from the races have been donated to the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO). This organization works to spread awareness of asbestos-related diseases in an effort to see a global ban issued on asbestos use.

The B Fund Candy Drive

Employees of Sokolove Law are proud to contribute to the B Fund. The B Fund was created to empower parents and children to be the change they wish to see in the world.

The organization was founded by parents of critically ill children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Boston Children’s Hospital. These inspired parents wanted to show their children the value of philanthropy and teach them the benefits of giving back in a fun way.

Families involved in the B Fund give their time and talents to celebrate the joys of giving back. The organization and its members work to teach children the importance of kindness, generosity, and community involvement through experiential learning.

Proceeds from the B Fund benefit Boston Children’s Hospital in their efforts to support families that care for critically ill children.

Sokolove Law also participated in the B Fund Halloween Candy Drive. The collected candy is provided to Boston Children’s Hospital Yawkey Inn along with a matching monetary donation per piece of candy donated.

The Inn provides housing to the families of Boston Children’s Hospital patients, many of whom need a short-term place to stay in the Boston area. Last year the B Fund raised over $25,000.

Warm Hands, Warm Hearts Winter Apparel Drive

The winter months are the most difficult time of year for people who are homeless, many of whom are veterans. They spend much of their time outdoors having to brave frigid temperatures and snow.

Sokolove Law employees have worked to help keep those who are homeless safe and comfortable throughout the winter months by collecting coats, sweaters, hats, scarves, gloves, and warm socks for the Warm Hands, Warm Hearts Winter Apparel Drive.

This clothing drive is a part of Friends of Boston’s Homeless efforts to help people who are homeless take the next steps to leading hopeful lives off of the streets and into dignified housing.

Friends of Boston’s Homeless supports Woods Mullen Women’s Shelter and Southampton Men’s Shelter in Boston’s South End. These shelters serve over 800 people every day — 70% of whom are men and 30% of whom are women.

The winter brings challenges to many people, especially those who do not have a place to live.

In fact, hundreds of individuals and families in the Boston community spend the frigid winter months without winter coats to keep them warm.

Anton's Coat Drive

The staff at Sokolove Law wanted to do their part to change that.

Our employees collected and donated winter coats for children and adults that were distributed to local families in need.

Project Just Because Adopt-a-Family
