Liz graduated at the top of her class from the University of Central Florida College of Nursing, where she completed both her undergraduate and graduate studies. She also completed Oncology Patient Navigator Training through the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Her background includes work in pulmonology and thoracic oncology, managing a lung cancer screening program and infusion clinic, and helping patients enroll in clinical trials to access emerging treatments.
During her career, Liz has worked closely with people facing asbestos-related diseases. She’s a member of the Academy of Oncology Nurse and Patient Navigators (AONN+) and the American Nurses Association (ANA). Liz is also certified by the Patient Advocate Certification Board (PACB). She has extensive experience helping families understand a mesothelioma diagnosis, connect with specialists, and access life-changing treatment.
Helping mesothelioma patients is deeply personal for Liz. Her interest in nursing began at a young age after watching the compassion and support her aunt received while battling lung cancer. Liz often accompanied her aunt to chemotherapy appointments and saw firsthand how nurses could make an overwhelming experience feel less frightening and easier to understand.
That experience shaped the way Liz approaches her work today. One of the most meaningful moments of her career was helping guide a patient from the discovery of a lung tumor through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. The patient later thanked Liz for standing beside her every step of the way.
Liz is known for her empathy, dedication, and patient-first approach. She works closely with families to answer questions and help them connect with mesothelioma specialists, cancer centers, and support services that can improve quality of life.
“The ability to improve someone’s well-being is deeply fulfilling. I possess a strong sense of empathy that fuels my desire to help others, especially when they’re at their most vulnerable.”
– Liz Logan, RN, Patient Advocate
Today, Liz continues to support mesothelioma patients nationwide while helping educate families about treatment options and supportive care. She also co-moderates mesothelioma support groups where patients and caregivers can ask questions, share their experiences, and receive guidance in a welcoming environment.
Liz looks forward to hearing your story and helping your family better understand your options after a mesothelioma diagnosis.
