Breaking News: Adult Bed Rails Recalled for Asphyxiation Risk
In December 2021, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall of nearly 500,000 adult bed rails made by Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare, citing serious entrapment hazards and risk of death by asphyxiation.
The recall comes after two reported deaths. In both incidents, victims were found trapped between the company’s bed rails and their mattresses, which ultimately led to their deaths. CPSC recommends the owners of these products stop using them immediately and contact Drive DeVilbiss for a refund.
What Is an Adult Bed Rail?
