Global Asbestos Awareness Week: Debunking the Myths About Asbestos

global asbestos awareness week asbestos myths

Most Americans know that asbestos is dangerous and deadly. But much of the information beyond that fact remains cloudy. Widespread myths can keep the public from knowing vital information that can ultimately save lives.

This year’s Global Asbestos Awareness Week (GAAW), Sokolove Law is debunking common myths about asbestos and drawing attention to the facts that truly matter.

Asbestos is still legal in the United States. And it’s as deadly as ever, killing up to 40,000 Americans each year.

Watch our brief video below to learn more about the real dangers of asbestos and why we are fighting to ban it in the U.S. right now.

Thank you for watching. We hope you have enjoyed our video.

Remember: Stick to the facts. During these uncertain times, we must remember what is most important: Life — above all else. Asbestos is a known carcinogen that needlessly endangers and kills tens of thousands of people around the world each year through diseases like mesothelioma, asbestosis, and asbestos-related lung cancer.

To support the efforts of GAAW this year, Sokolove Law will continue to release educational videos that highlight the true depth of our country’s asbestos problem — one video for every day of GAAW.

We will continue to make these videos available for free online through our social media channels and our blog, so be sure to follow our Facebook and Twitter pages, and please like, share, and retweet to help spread awareness.
